Hi all!
It’s been a minute, hasn’t it? Here’s all of my latest news, courses, and projects.
🤷🏼♀️ What do you want to learn? 🤷🏿♂️
At the start of 2022, I was not working and started making a bunch of YouTube videos to teach HTML and CSS concepts. Then I got hired by 2U to lead a team creating the HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap portions of the UX/UI Blended Bootcamp. Super fun job, but it kept me so busy!
That contract is done now, so I’m working on some new projects on my own. You’ll see me posting more about how to teach code effectively. So many people think teaching is easy - that’s why there are so many horrible and frustrating tutorials online. It’s not you — it’s your teachers!
I’ll also be making more YouTube videos about HTML, CSS, no-code technologies, or anything else you want to learn. Have a suggestion? Please let me know and I’ll consider making a video for you!
🎉 New Frontend Masters course: Intermediate HTML and CSS
Ready for the next step on your CSS journey? Intermediate HTML and CSS covers more on semantic HTML, CSS selectors, including the new ones like :is()
, :where()
, and :has()
, and specificity, the cascade, and inheritance.
Still learning HTML and CSS? Want something free? Check out Getting Started with CSS, also at Frontend Masters, which covers making a portfolio site from nothing but text and images.
🥳 New LinkedIn Learning courses
CSS: Selectors
My popular CSS: Selectors course has been updated with :is()
, :where()
, and :has()
, as well as :any-link
, :focus-within
, CSS error checking with :valid, :invalid, :in-range, :out-of-range

Practical HTML for No-Coders
Need to learn HTML but have no programming background at all? No worries! Practical HTML for No-Coders focuses on some basic HTML elements that are used in marketing and design. Course runs via CodePen, so there’s no HTML editor to download or files to organize. Check it out for yourself or recommend it to your marketing team.

Thanks so much for being part of this mailing list. I always feature free HTML and CSS explainer videos as well as other resources around the web you may find useful.
I’ll email you again in a month with more updates:
I have courses coming from LinkedIn Learning on Bubble, CSS logical properties, and Wix.
Brian Holt, Frontend Masters, and I are talking about a newly revised Boot Camp. What would you like us to cover? (View the current FREE boot camp at Frontend Masters.)
I’m starting work on a course to teach developers how to teach coding more effectively. Watch for a bunch of posts on this coming soon. I will probably not email these to you, but they will be included in my newsletter updates.
